This can happen for multiple reasons but this post is going to focus on a specific setting, related to replication counters update.<\/p>\n<p>Before going into that just two quick tips.<\/p>\n<p>First tip for partners is to enable telemetry and connect the customer environment to Application Insights.<br \/>\nMore resources here:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/microsoft\/BCTech\/blob\/master\/samples\/AppInsights\/VIDEOS.md\">https:\/\/github.com\/microsoft\/BCTech\/blob\/master\/samples\/AppInsights\/VIDEOS.md<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/microsoft\/BCTech\/blob\/master\/samples\/AppInsights\/VIDEOS.md#how-do-i-get-started-with-application-insights-4-min\">https:\/\/github.com\/microsoft\/BCTech\/blob\/master\/samples\/AppInsights\/VIDEOS.md#how-do-i-get-started-with-application-insights-4-min<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Second tip is to use the PowerBI app that Microsoft provides for free through the AppSource (requires a PowerBI Pro license). You get a lot of information out-of-the-box!<br \/>\nMore resources here:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/microsoft\/BCTech\/blob\/master\/samples\/AppInsights\/VIDEOS.md#how-can-i-analyze-performance-using-the-power-bi-performance-report-8-min\">https:\/\/github.com\/microsoft\/BCTech\/blob\/master\/samples\/AppInsights\/VIDEOS.md#how-can-i-analyze-performance-using-the-power-bi-performance-report-8-min<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/microsoft\/BCTech\/tree\/master\/samples\/AppInsights\/PowerBI\/Reports\/AppSource\">BCTech\/samples\/AppInsights\/PowerBI\/Reports\/AppSource at master \u00b7 microsoft\/BCTech (github.com)<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/appsource.microsoft.com\/en-us\/product\/PowerBI\/microsoftdynsmb.bc_telemetry_pbi_app\">https:\/\/appsource.microsoft.com\/en-us\/product\/PowerBI\/microsoftdynsmb.bc_telemetry_pbi_app<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>On the <strong>SQL Deadlocks<\/strong> page, available in the PowerBI app, I was able to check that there&#8217;s a lot of deadlocks being triggered on the <strong>Replication Counter<\/strong> field validation, for multiple tables:<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1356\" height=\"204\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-7968 \" src=\"https:\/\/ricardomoinhos.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/img_654bb53e35442.png\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ricardomoinhos.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/img_654bb53e35442.png 1356w, https:\/\/ricardomoinhos.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/img_654bb53e35442-300x45.png 300w, https:\/\/ricardomoinhos.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/img_654bb53e35442-1024x154.png 1024w, https:\/\/ricardomoinhos.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/img_654bb53e35442-768x116.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1356px) 100vw, 1356px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Most likely this is because your customer has the Replication Counters update enabled on the HO distribution location card which doesn&#8217;t make sense if all the POSes are running online and no replication (using counters) is needed. Having said that, it makes sense to enable the <strong>Skip Repl.
